The African Union (AU) is accepting applications for its internship programme.
This programme provides an opportunity for young Africans to gain experience in different AU departments.
Interns will support administrative and technical tasks across various sectors.
Internship Areas
Interns will assist in different AU offices and departments, including:Chairperson’s Office
Deputy Chairperson’s Office
Director General’s Office
Education, Science, and Technology
Health and Social Development
Political Affairs and Security
Human Resources
Legal Affairs
Finance and Audit
Information and Communication
Who Can Apply
To be eligible, applicants must:Be in the final year of a bachelor’s degree or have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Be a citizen of an AU member state.
Be a full-time student in their final year or a recent graduate.
Be fluent in at least one AU working language (Arabic, English, French, or Portuguese).
Be under 32 years old at the time of selection.
Have no serious criminal record.
Work experience is not required.
Required SkillsBasic computer knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to use email and internet applications.
Strong communication skills in writing and speech.
Fluency in one AU language.
Terms of the InternshipAU does not cover travel, accommodation, or living costs.
Interns are responsible for entry and residence visas.
The internship lasts three months, with a one-time renewal.
Interns must have personal health insurance during the internship.
