The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially granted a full operational licence to Al-Istiqama University in Sumaila, Kano State.
This comes after a thorough assessment conducted earlier this year, marking a significant milestone for the institution.

Al-Istiqama University Achieves Full Licence Status
After operating under a provisional licence for the past three years, Al-Istiqama University has successfully met the NUC’s operational guidelines.
The university can now operate fully without the limitations of its provisional status.
Assessment Visit and Compliance
The NUC’s decision followed an assessment visit conducted from 2nd to 5th June 2024.
The visit aimed to ensure the university complied with the guidelines set during the probationary period.
In a letter dated 15th October 2024, the NUC expressed satisfaction with the institution’s progress and compliance.
NUC Confirms Issuance of Full Licence
Mrs. Lydia T. Imoroa, Acting Director of Inspection and Monitoring, signed the letter on behalf of the NUC’s Acting Executive Secretary.
She confirmed that the NUC’s Management Committee had approved the issuance of a full operational licence.
This approval allows Al-Istiqama University to continue its academic and administrative functions without further restrictions.
