Duration of Postgraduate Programmes

Admission Requirements for OOU Postgraduate Programmes
Postgraduate Diploma Programmes

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:Be a graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University or any other Senate-approved university with at least a Third Class degree.
Hold a Higher National Diploma with a Lower Credit level or higher.
Academic Master Degree Programmes

Applicants should possess:A Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University or any Senate-approved university in relevant disciplines.
Professional Master Degree Programmes

Eligibility requires one of the following:A Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University or any Senate-approved university.
A Third Class degree plus a Postgraduate Diploma at credit level in relevant programmes.
A Higher National Diploma with a Lower Credit level and a Postgraduate Diploma in a related field.
Ph.D. Programmes

Candidates should have:A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from Olabisi Onabanjo University with a CGPA of 3.5 or above for direct entry into the Ph.D. programme.
A CGPA of 3.00 to 3.49 for provisional admission into the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme, with the requirement to achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.50 after two semesters.
A Master’s degree from another university with a CGPA of 3.0 or above for provisional admission into the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme, needing a minimum CGPA of 3.50 after two semesters to proceed to Ph.D.
Specific Programme Requirements

Candidates applying for specific programmes must note the following requirements:Postgraduate Diploma in Law: Requires a Third Class Bachelor’s Degree in Law and at least five O’ Level credit passes, including English Language and Literature.
Master of Law (LL.M.): Requires a Bachelor of Law degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower.
Postgraduate Diploma in Anaesthesia: Requires a good First Degree in Medicine and Surgery.
Master of Public Health (MPH): Requires a degree in M.B.Ch.B or equivalent with at least five years of relevant experience.
Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Analysis: Requires honours degrees in relevant Science disciplines or an HND with Lower Credit in relevant areas.
M.Sc. Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry: Requires a Second Class Lower Division degree in relevant disciplines and may involve a selection process.
M.Sc. Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology: Requires a good First Degree in Pharmacy or a classified degree with acceptable grades in Pharmaceutics courses.
Ph.D. Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry: Requires a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical or Medicinal Chemistry, Chemistry, or Biochemistry.
Additional Information and RequirementsAll programmes require five O’ Level credit passes in relevant subjects at a maximum of two sittings.
Candidates must have fulfilled the basic O’ Level requirements for their intended programmes, which will be verified.
Possession of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge, Exemption, or Exclusion Certificate is compulsory.
M.Phil/Ph.D. and Ph.D. applicants must have their Master’s degree transcripts sent to the Secretary, Postgraduate School, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, by Friday, 6th September 2024. Admission will not be processed without the transcript.
Ph.D. candidates should contact relevant departments to confirm the availability of supervisors and vacancies before applying.

Closing Date and Qualifying ExaminationsAll application forms must be submitted online by Monday, 2nd September 2024.
Qualifying examinations/interviews will take place on Friday, 6th September 2024 at various campuses:Ago-Iwoye Campus: Arts, Education, Science, Law, Social Sciences, and Administration and Management Sciences Departments at 10:00 a.m.
Sagamu Campus: Basic Medical Sciences, Pharmacy, and Clinical Sciences Departments at 10:00 a.m.
Ibogun Campus: Engineering and Environmental Studies Departments at 10:00 a.m.
Ayetoro Campus: Agricultural Management and Rural Development and Agricultural Production and Renewable Resources Departments at 10:00 a.m.
