Job Description
The Principal is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school.
This includes managing both administrative and financial affairs.
The role involves supervising teaching and non-teaching staff to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
The Principal must ensure the school’s activities align with its vision and mission.
Strategic policy formulation and the development of initiatives are key responsibilities.
Liaising with educational bodies and agencies for the school’s advancement is required.
The Principal must also administer the structural organization of the school.
Attention to the school’s educational values is paramount.
Enforcing the school’s rules and regulations among staff and students is essential.
Engagement with parents and stakeholders is a vital part of the role.
Finally, the Principal is responsible for managing the school’s resources effectively.
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates must hold a good honours degree in an education-related discipline, not below Second Class Lower Division, from a recognized university.
A Master’s degree in an education-related field is required, with additional qualifications being an advantage.
Membership in relevant professional bodies and associations is essential.
Membership in the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is mandatory.
Candidates must have at least five years of post-qualification cognate experience.
Soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership are necessary.
A high moral standard and unblemished character are required, along with integrity and ethical conduct.
Proficiency in ICT and evidence of its use are mandatory.
