The University of Port Harcourt’s College of Continuing Education (CCE) has announced the commencement of its Part-Time Degree Programmes application sales for the 2021/2022 session. Qualified applicants possessing an A/Level GCE or Diploma from recognized institutions have the opportunity to secure admission through the Direct Entry mode.

Degree Programmes
The Part-Time degrees and Direct Entry programmes under the CCE for the academic year 2021/2022 cover a variety of faculties.
1. Faculty of Humanities
The faculty offers B.A. Degree Programmes in History & Diplomatic Studies, English Studies, Philosophy, Religious & Cultural Studies, and Linguistics.
2. Faculty of Social Sciences
Candidates can enroll for B.Sc. Degree Programmes in Economics, Public Administration, and Sociology (Community Development & Social Welfare).
3. Faculty of Management Sciences
Prospective students can opt for B.Sc. Degree Programmes in Accounting, Finance and Banking, Management, Marketing and Hospitality Management & Tourism.
4. Faculty of Science
The faculty offers a B.Sc. Degree Programme in Computer Science.
Admission Requirements for the Degree Programmes
Candidates must have WAEC/SSCE, GCE O’ Level or their equivalent with credit passes in five (5) relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics. However, certain subjects are considered unacceptable for application.
Admission Requirements for Direct Entry Applicants
For Direct Entry admission, candidates must have at least two A/Level passes in HSC, GCE or JUPEB, NCE/Diploma with (Upper credit) in relevant subjects from any recognized institutions. Moreover, they must have five credit passes in WAEC/SSCE, NECO, GCE “O” Level or their equivalent.
Specific Admission Requirements
1. Faculty of Humanities:Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Diplomatic StudiesFive (5) credit passes: English Language, History or Government, plus any other three subjects from a specified list.
Bachelor of Arts Degree in English StudiesFive (5) credit passes: English Language, Literature in English, plus any other three subjects from a specified list.
Bachelor of Arts Degree in LinguisticsFive (5) credit passes: English Language and any other four subjects from a specified list.
Bachelor of Arts Degree in PhilosophyFive (5) credit passes: English Language and any other four subjects from a specified list. A pass in Mathematics, a Science subject or Literature in English is required.
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious and Cultural StudiesFive (5) credit passes: English Language and any other four subjects from a specified list.
2. Faculty of Social Sciences:Five (5) credit passes, including English Language, two Social Science subjects and credit in any other two Arts subjects.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Public AdministrationFive (5) credit passes: English Language, Government or History, Economics, and any other two subjects from a specified list. A pass in Mathematics is required if not included in the five credit passes.
Bachelor of Science Degree in EconomicsFive (5) credit passes: English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Government/History/ Geography and any other subject from a specified list.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology (Community Development and Social Welfare)Five (5) credit passes: English Language and any other four subjects from a specified list. A pass in Mathematics is required if not included in the five credit passes.
3. Faculty of Management SciencesFive (5) credit passes: English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two subjects from a specified list.
Bachelor of Science Degree in ManagementFive (5) credit passes: English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from a specified list.
Bachelor of Science Degree in MarketingFive (5) credit passes: English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from a specified list.
Bachelor of Science Degree in AccountingFive (5) credit passes: English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from a specified list.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and BankingFive (5) credit passes: English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from a specified list.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality Management and TourismFive (5) credit passes: English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two from a specified list.
4. Faculty of ScienceBachelor of Science Degree in Computer ScienceFive (5) credit passes: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
NOTE: ONLY ‘O’ LEVEL IN WAEC (SSCE/GCE), NABTEB AND NECO Certificates are acceptable for registration. TC II is not acceptable.
Method of Application
Application to the various Programmes is done online. Interested candidates should click this link and follow the application instructions. After completion of the online application, a non-refundable fee of N10,000.00, excluding Bank charges, must be paid at the U & C Micro Finance Bank.
After payment, candidates are required to return to the online application portal to input their teller number, print out their payment slip, and report to the Examinations and Records Unit, CCE, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt with photocopies of their credentials for further documentation.
All candidates must ensure that they have the requisite qualifications for the intended courses. Moreover, they are required to complete the Jamb registration and application form online with the sum of N3,500.00.
Please note: The names stated by candidates in their Application Forms must match the names on their credentials. Any inconsistency in names may lead to disqualification. Also, candidates with O/Level Examination Results from 2014 and earlier must present their Original Certificates, not Statement of Results or Result Slips.
