ABUTH SHIM Admission Form 2023/2024
Applications are invited for admission into the ABUTH School of Health Information Management for the 2023/2024 academic session. Choose from ND, Pre-HND, and HND programmes. Check the entry requirements and apply online. The deadline for submission is July 6, 2023.
Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria, is pleased to announce that the admission process for its School of Health Information Management (SHIM) for the academic session 2023/2024 is now open. Invitations for applications are extended to suitably qualified candidates for its National Diploma (ND), Pre-Higher National Diploma (Pre-HND), and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.

ABUTH School of Health Information Management Admission Requirements
National Diploma
The ND programme in Health Information Management equips candidates with knowledge and skills for managing vital health information at various health administration levels. The programme runs for two academic sessions consisting of four semesters, including supervised clinical work experience.
Entry Requirements: Five Credits, including English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics or Chemistry, and any other subject in not more than 2 sittings.
Pre-Higher National Diploma
The Pre-HND Programme in Health Information Management serves as a bridge for candidates with Health Records Technician Certificates or HIT Certificates to undertake an HND Programme in Health Information Management. This one-year programme sets the groundwork for a seamless transition into the HND programme.
Entry Requirements: Five Credits, including English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics or Chemistry, and any other subject in not more than 2 sittings. Health Records Technician Certificate with a minimum of Lower Credit.
Higher National Diploma
The HND programme in Health Information Management offers a more in-depth understanding of planning, collating, organizing, disseminating, monitoring, and managing health information at different administrative levels. This two-year programme consists of four semesters, including supervised clinical work experience.
Entry Requirements: Five Credits, including English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics or Chemistry, and any other subject in not more than 1 sitting. National Diploma Certificates in Health Information Management with a minimum of Lower Credit. Evidence of compulsory Industrial Training (IT) or attachment in a reputable Health Institution.
How to Apply for ABUTH School of Health Information Management Admission
The application process is streamlined and can be conveniently completed online. The application form costs N6,200.
Please follow the steps outlined below to complete your application:Visit the application portal at www.apply.abuth.gov.ng.
Click on “Sign Up” and create your profile (Note down your LogIn ID and Password for future use).
Choose “Check Forms on Sale” or “Apply Here”.
Select your desired programme by clicking “Apply” at its right end.
Click “Apply” on the displayed transaction page, then “Generate RRR” at the bottom left to obtain a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).
Pay online via Remita using a Master/Visa/Internet Banking card, or print your Transaction-slip and pay at any commercial bank (Ensure the RRR Number appears on the slip before printing and going to the bank).
Return to the portal, click on “LOGIN” and enter your created Login ID and Password.
Fill in all required details (Biodata, Contact, Next of Kin, Qualifications, and Passport Photo).
Agree with the terms and conditions, then finally Submit (You can always come back to edit your application before the final closing date).
After submission, print your form-slip and Transaction-Slip from your profile page. These documents are required at the entrance exams/interview. Please note that document uploads are not required.
